Why should I become a teacher?

Teaching is one of , if not the most rewarding professions. There are not many careers where you can make a difference to a young person’s life and directly see the results of your support. Being a teacher provides you with the privilege of witnessing a student progress and develop throughout their education journey – whether that be in a primary school, secondary school or beyond.

As a teacher, you can use your subject knowledge and passion for teaching to help students become enthusiastic about learning and studying. Your lessons could be what shapes a young person’s future and the career path they eventually choose.

Once qualified, there are many opportunities for good teachers to climb the career ladder and find employment. The starting salary is £30,000 in 2023. All teachers will also experience job security, as teaching is a job for life.

These are just some of the many reasons for getting into teaching and at Haybridge Alliance SCITT, you will be trained to the very highest standard so you will be the best teacher you can be.

Hear the stories from the people who chose Haybridge Alliance SCITT

Why should trainee teachers or schools choose Haybridge Teaching Alliance? Hear from real people and their stories on how Haybridge Alliance SCITT has helped them in their teaching career.

I chose Haybridge Alliance Scitt as staff and trainees are like a big family! Having a smaller cohort allows for more support, and amazing relationships to be bulit. Lectures provide evidence-informed learning, which link well and are a massive help within the classroom. Teaching alongside doing your assignments is great experience and allows for more understanding within both. Haybridge is very hands on and is great experience for when you have your own class!

Caitlyn

Training to become a teacher at Haybridge is fantastic, the lectures are tailored to ensure you are being taught best current practice, everyone is so friendly and as the groups are quite small it is great to be able to have in depth discussions about the world of teaching.

Choosing to change career and retrain at 30 years old was never going to be easy, but everyone at Haybridge made me see that it is never too late, and I am so glad I chose to do my degree at such an inclusive and welcoming SCITT.

Laura

Haybridge has been a fantastic platform to help start my teaching career. All the staff are so supportive and on hand to answer any questions I have, big or small. The weekly sessions provide so much knowledge that I can take into my placement to push me further as a teacher.

Being part of the cohort is invaluable, having a network of people going through the same things as you brings so much comfort and it’s great to see how we progress each week – thank you Haybridge!

Lauren

The Haybridge staff are consistently friendly, approachable and supportive. It was clear from the get-go that the course was structured to provide maximum support for all the trainees from day one in school. The guidance with the stages and expectations are clear and accessible, with care for how the trainees develop embedded within the teaching curriculum.

With teaching there is a great deal to learn, and it is all important. I’ve found the Haybridge team go above and beyond in showing us how, why and what each part of the course links to in both the classroom and our own teaching practise. Whatever the issue, at Haybridge the staff are always there to support and guide you to be the best teacher you can be.

Conor

The thought of starting to train as a mature student was very daunting but the mixture of people on the course definitely helped.
The content has been fantastic so far, informative and relevant to my practice. Hearing an array of experiences and sharing knowledge with other trainees helps boost confidence, give reassurance and allows us to support each other professionally and emotionally!

Thank you Haybridge for all that you do to further my career.

Carla

I started my primary teacher training with Haybridge in September. The help and support that I have received so far is excellent. The staff are super positive and if I have ever needed help, they are always readily available. The lessons that I have received have been full of useful content and I have learnt lots about my future career already. I think it is beginning to help me have a great start. I can’t wait to continue my learning and to see what else that Haybridge has in store!

Jordan

I chose Haybridge Alliance SCITT because of the exciting opportunities available whilst staying at home. Being in a school placement every week is extremely beneficial as it allows me to put into practice what I’ve learnt during the lectures straight away!

Thank you for creating a teaching platform, which has a small cohort and great communication.

Summer

The support, guidance and teaching from all the team at Haybridge SCITT has given me the confidence to pursue a career in ways a traditional university led route could not offer me. Having experienced a traditional university environment, I can vouch for the fact you will not get a more personalised experience!
Learning through my school placements has provided me with fantastic opportunities to practically apply my learning whilst allowing me to network and collaborate with other teachers on a regular basis.
I would recommend this course to anyone who is ready to get stuck into their teacher training and is eager to commit and work hard!

Blythe

The team at Haybridge are all very welcoming and create a friendly environment where we can always ask for support with assignments or lesson plans. Being in our placement schools allow us to also put our learning into practise in real experiences throughout the whole school year.
